Tabasco each day keeps the bunnies away

There are all kinds of home remedies gardeners have told me about over the years.

Irish Spring keeps the deer away: My grandmother used to keep Irish Spring bars on poles around her roses, raspberries, and whatever else she wanted to grow, and apparently the smell of Irish Spring is repulsive to deer. It worked!

Beer drowns slugs & snails: My mom used to put out little pans/lids of beer in the garden, and by-gum, the slugs and snails came in droves, and they would get stuck in there never to return.

Tabasco keeps away the rabbits: This is a new one... but I read that Dutch farmers have been spraying their fields with Tabasco, and every rabbit flees the scene immediately. Who knew?

So next time you try to grow something, be sure you're armed with Tabasco, Beer, and some Irish Spring. Although, those might be helpful for a weekend barbeque, too!
